I started "the word changes" in 2014, after experiencing some serious health, family, and work issues. It was a time in my life when I wanted to give up. I had multiple hospital admissions due to a rare autoimmune condition that I suffer from. I was at the end of my rope. I was ready to die.
BUT, it was the encouraging words, prayers, and support I received from my family, church, and friends that got me through that tough period of my life. After getting through what I thought I never could, I wanted to share with others what I received. I wanted to use words to encourage and motivate people to create a change in their life.
Through the word changes platform, I seek to inspire, to ignite change, to bring clarity, to reveal purpose, and to bring you to that "AHA" moment! I believe WORDs are the vehicle for this. WORDs affect us; they explain our past, our present, and our future. A single WORD is powerful. It can provoke thought. It can change the direction of your life. And that WORD—that oneWORD—can transform over time. It can take on a new meaning; as you live life, that WORD can change.
It is my belief that we are here on earth to make the lives of others better. I want to use my platform to do that. That is why two-thirds of my profits go directly to charities and causes that are transforming the lives of those they serve.
I started Get Preachy™ because I felt like God is doing so much through us, but I didn't feel like we were loud enough about it. I wondered if it was because we feel uncomfortable or unsure of how to speak up. I wanted to create an avenue that helps equip us to share our stories of what God is doing in our lives—boldly and unapologetically.
Every product I offer—from our signature song "One Word" to our handbags, apparel, and greeting cards—is designed to be a tool for our shared journey and a way to share our faith. As we grow, I will continue to add items that stay true to this mission of transformation and encouragement.
